channel 5 (mapped to) Rear Left also pushes up the meters for Side Left and Front left.Īt first I tried using Bluetooth from the laptop to a Logitech adapter plugged into to an analogue connection on my Sony STR-DH810 AV receiver. On the output side, there seems a slight bias towards the expected output but not convincingly so e.g. a loud segment on track 8 pushes up the meter on its mapped input.
In the Reasurround UI, the meters on the input tracks reflect exactly what I would expect e.g. the output meters on the SENDing tracks move in time to what I've recorded on the tracks, and the meter on the RECEIVEing track does the same.
This 9th track had the Reasurround VST enabled on it.įrom within Reaper, everything looks (visually) ok. I then set up those tracks to SEND to a 9th track.
In summary, on my laptop I recorded 8 vocal tracks of me just saying 'Front Left', 'LFE subwoofer' 'Rear Right' etc into the onboard mic. I decided to have a go at a 7.1 mix using Reaper 5.01 just for fun, no real reason.Īfter a bit of messing around I think I got Reaper configured correctly. The basic problem is this, most of my surround mix is coming from the front speakers, with only the merest hint of audio coming from the side and rear speakers - even if you listen up close to them I could go on for several pages and I'm still not sure whether I should be posting this question on a Reaper forum, one for PC hardware, or home theatre.
